Rits Marcelis

To support young people through their own self-discovery, a campus atmosphere must reflect the needs, identities and interests of its students. As a leader in architectural design, Rits approaches design through a thoughtful and deliberate process, fueled by student engagement and close partnerships with stakeholders at all levels of the institution.

Rits believes that a building’s architecture, both inside and out, should be more than beautifully designed—it should reflect the institution’s mission and values. With expertise in creating and amplifying the power of place, Rits works with clients to help them establish and refine their vision for how new facilities can propel their institution into the future, building on the identity and branding so important to them. His goal is to deliver building solutions that are functional and become an integral part of the campus experience.
