Deb Favaretto

Deb has been a dedicated architect to sustainable design in our Health practice for more than eight years, eventually stepping into the role of Sustainability Process Leader supporting the firm across markets. Deb works together with internal groups to integrate sustainability into our projects as seamlessly as possible and to ensure our teams are equipped with the right tools and resources to raise the bar on all our design work. 

She propels many of our ongoing external and internal initiatives, such as the AIA 2030 Commitment and CannonDesign’s Energy Design Process to make sure we’re raising our own sustainability standards and driving forward our Planet 2100 ambition. Deb is passionate and committed to providing our teams with what they need to truly make every building a green building.

Expertise

  • Leading the firm’s annual AIA 2030 Commitment reporting and design phase implementation strategy  
  • Bridging the gap between the large goals for net zero energy/carbon and actionable steps and procedures 
  • Evaluating building envelope thermal performance, embodied carbon, and material ingredients to utilize product metrics to select and specify better materials for people and planet health

Pursuits

  • Climate and ecosystem enthusiast, getting informed on environmental issues where our work can help
  • Team co-captain for four years with the national organization, Rebuilding Together, organizing a volunteer group of our CannonDesigners in home remodel projects for under resourced families with the mission of providing warmer, safer, and dryer conditions for living
  • Proud former Division I collegiate Field Hockey player for Miami University (Ohio)
