These virtual hospitals have a wider reach than traditional, brick and mortar hospitals as they can cater to patients without the confines of one physical location by allowing patients in hospitals or at home to be monitored by remote providers. Although the aim of telehealth is not to make healthcare completely remote, virtual hospitals are able to provide more equitable care for those who live in rural communities without accessible specialized care.
