CannonDesign honored with global ethics & compliance award

This award, which was given to just eight companies worldwide, is a testament to our unwavering commitment to fostering and upholding a workplace environment grounded in ethical principles and a robust culture of compliance. This recognition places our program alongside industry giants like PepsiCo, Pilot, Axis Health System and more.

To our knowledge, our Ethics and Compliance program is the first autonomous and independently staffed compliance department in the architecture & engineering industry. We have a team of three experts certified by the Compliance Certification Board who oversee the program — Paul Moskal, J.D., CCEP, CCEP-I; Nicholas Mineo, J.D., CCEP; and Mary Waz, CCEP. Since the program’s inception in 2014, we have conducted over 40,000 hours of employee training.

Other highlights of our Ethics & Compliance program include:

• Our Acts of Integrity initiative celebrates those who epitomize ethical conduct. We reward employees who pinpoint potential ethical concerns, irrespective of the issue's outcome. This approach ensures our team feels confident and supported in raising concerns. Since 2015, we've recognized 185 Acts of Integrity, amounting to rewards of over $42,000.
• Embracing the idea that "A rising tide lifts all boats," we routinely speak at industry events and consult with organizations across a variety of sectors to evangelize the benefits of ethics and compliance. Due to demand, CannonDesign started a separate ethics consultancy to help businesses establish their own ethics and compliance programs.
• We have an Ethics Hotline that allows employees, clients and partners to report suspicious activity, via webform or hotline, 24 hours a day in a variety of languages. This allows anyone with a concern to be heard and empowered to report without fear of retaliation.
• Our robust Code of Conduct clearly explains how employees and vendors must conduct themselves to uphold our values and standards. It underscores our commitment to ethical business practices, guiding individuals in embodying the highest levels of professionalism and ethical conduct in every facet of their work.
