Building Design + Construction recently featured the newly renovated St. John’s University Peter J. Tobin College of Business. The 65,000 sf facility is a result of a complete gut renovation of Bent Hall and was guided by three important themes: transparency, collaboration and connection. The piece highlighted characteristics of the facility, and included positive feedback on CannonDesign’s work from construction management firm Shawmut Design and Construction.
The renovation bring all of the components of the College of Business under one roof, and opens up the facility to the surrounding St. John’s campus. The new arrangement of classrooms, offices and administrative groups, and abundance of collaboration spaces throughout the facility will help foster stronger student-to-student, student-to-faculty and faculty-to-faculty connections. Glass fronts on specialty labs and offices help encourage these interactions.
More background on the college and its degree programs can be found via its website.
